Introduction

St. Paul's Lutheran Church is part of the larger Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  At the present time we have an average worshipping attendance of approximately 130.  The leadership of our congregation has looked at the strengths and weaknesses of our size and attempts to address our vision for the future based on these attributes, yet moving in a direction that does not limit future growth.  We are the only church in Funkstown, a community of about 1,000 residents just outside of Hagerstown.

 Who We Are

Our church family is open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and welcomes persons of all racial, cultural, economic, educational, and ethnic backgrounds.  We are committed to being a compassionate community of believers who are reverent in worship, spiritually free, humanly diverse.  We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, goodness and love; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, who for us and our salvation, lived, died and rose again to live forevermore; and in the Holy Spirit who takes of the things of Christ and reveals them to us.
